Description
Hibiscus sabdariffa, commonly known as Roselle, originates from West Africa but is now cultivated extensively across tropical and subtropical regions worldwide. Unlike typical ornamental hibiscus, Roselle is grown specifically for its fleshy, crimson calyces—the part that surrounds the flower bud. These calyces are harvested and dried to produce a vibrant, tart beverage often referred to as hibiscus tea or sorrel.
