Shankhpushpi Powder — the dried, ground whole plant of Convolvulus pluricaulis — is the primary commercial product form of this classical Ayurvedic Medhya Rasayana herb, enabling its incorporation in capsule, tablet, and compound Churna pharmaceutical manufacturing. The small, prostrate annual herb of the family Convolvulaceae, native to the dry sandy plains of northern and northwestern India, is distinguished as one of four classical Shankhpushpi species by the Bhavaprakasha Nighantu and designated as the authentic Pharmacopoeial source in the Ayurvedic Pharmacopoeia of India. The whole plant contains scopoletin, kaempferol, phytol, and various alkaloids documented for cognitive and nervous system effects in pre-clinical research models.
