Description
What is Black Datura?
Black Datura, also called Kala Dhatura (Hindi: काला धतूरा / धतूरा बीज, Sanskrit: Dhattura), is the seed of Datura metel, a plant of the nightshade family (Solanaceae). The plant has large trumpet-shaped flowers – purple-tinged in the “black” form – and round, spiny fruits that hold many flat, yellow-brown to dark seeds. Datura is classified as a poisonous plant under Indian law, so these seeds are sold for puja, gardening and reference use only.
